In an essay filled with incredible visual language, this one jumped up like one of the cats that Aranya writes about. Having spent two weeks in Mumbai, thankfully before the rains, her vivid imagery, attention to detail and lyrical writing reveal a whole another mumbai, one harking back to the 70s (in my mind) and bring to mind Natalie Goldberg and Arun Kolatkar.
