We live in interesting times - “...while you are not safe I am not safe, and now you’re really in the total animal soup of time.” (Howl, Ginsberg). That a new language of survival is emerging, goes without saying, but also, art is intrinsically connected with the articulation and critique of this disorienting reality. For me, Poetry has been a loom on which I’m able to spin everything I see, feel and experience, into a somewhat simple tapestry.
It has been a year of Poetly. To mark this milestone, Poetly will be hosting a poetry reading featuring three exciting poets whose poems have been featured here before. I have spent time with the words that these beautiful imaginations have crafted; I have met their whimsy, and their intensity, I’ve held them close, and felt the clandestine thrill of sharing their truths with you. These poets’ sensibilities and advise have help shape the path that this project has taken.
It gives me immense joy to be curating ‘new language: a poetly reading’ featuring Raju Tai, Vimal Chitra and Srividya Sivakumar, on Sunday, the 4th of October. Block the date!
There will be an open session after the reading. Write in to poetly@pm.me, or DM @poetly_in, to block a slot to read an original poem. Limited slots. So hurry!
You can join the session on zoom using this link

For the next three days I will be sharing a poem by each of the poets. Make sure you don’t miss it. This is genius and love at work.
Tell a friend about ‘new language’. Share the love!
